Advancing Sight Network (ASN) began its operations 51 years ago as the first eye bank in Alabama (the Alabama Eye Bank). ASN is a certified 501c3 nonprofit organization and an accredited member of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) and registered with the FDA as a human tissue facility under FEI #3000215034. The Precision Ocular Biobank (POB), a division of ASN specializing in biobanking and distributing ocular tissue for research, is registered with the International Society of Biological and Environmental Repositories and is certified through the Canadian Tissue Repository Network. ASN is one of the largest eye banking networks and is a recognized national leader. ASN/POB is a partnered with over research 15 groups, working with major academic institutions and leading pharmaceuticals and biotechs.
