Abcepta

DETAILS

  • Format: Peptides are lyophilized in a solid powder format. Peptides can be reconstituted in solution using the appropriate buffer as needed.
  • Gene Id: 6223
  • Category: Peptides; Blocking Peptides
  • Subtitle: Synthetic peptide
  • Gene Name: RPS19
  • Other Names: 40S ribosomal protein S19, RPS19
  • Availability: 2 weeks
  • Bio Background: Ribosomes, the organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. Togetherthese subunits are composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80structurally distinct proteins. This gene encodes a ribosomalprotein that is a component of the 40S subunit. The protein belongsto the S19E family of ribosomal proteins. It is located in thecytoplasm. Mutations in this gene cause Diamond-Blackfan anemia(DBA), a constitutional erythroblastopenia characterized by absentor decreased erythroid precursors, in a subset of patients. Thissuggests a possible extra-ribosomal function for this gene inerythropoietic differentiation and proliferation, in addition toits ribosomal function. Higher expression levels of this gene insome primary colon carcinomas compared to matched normal colontissues has been observed. As is typical for genes encodingribosomal proteins, there are multiple processed pseudogenes ofthis gene dispersed through the genome.
